My Sunday Photo Feb 14th 2016 - Weather Vanes

 

Look at the top of any Normandy church tower and you will no doubt see a gold cockerel.  Le Coq, as all rugby fans will know, is a symbol of the nation of France, but only unofficially.  Officially it is Marianne and there will be more of her in another blog.  The church at Lenault may have been built by the English in the fourteenth century but it now sports a French cockerel.  In contrast, our weather vane is an owl, kindly given to us by friends when we moved over here.
