Once you've arrived at Eco-Gites of Lénault, done some food shopping and unpacked the car maybe you feel like you need to burn off some energy and the last thing you want to do now is to get back on the car. No need as we have plenty of activities available right here at the gite for you:

Explore the local footpath network ... on foot or on a bike

Step straight out of the gate and onto a network of well-marked local footpaths that wind through beautiful countryside and shady woodlands. Whether you fancy a gentle morning stroll, a longer countryside ramble or an energetic trail run or bike ride, there’s a route to suit every pace. It’s a wonderful way to explore the rural charm of Normandy.

We have written up some routes you can take that all start and finish at the gite or you can make your own and we have maps you can borrow.  The routes around us are very varied and we've some good steep hills as well if you want to burn off some extra energy. Cycling is also a pleasure on our very quiet local roads and we also have a covered area where you can store your bikes and use a hosepipe if they need a clean.

Play racquet sports

Maybe you don't even want to leave the gite so how about a game of pickleball right here? If you've not heard of this relatively new sport it is like a cross between tennis and table tennis, played on a court the same size as badminton. Here at the gite the court is our boules pitch and we supply the net, paddles (racquets) and balls. We have a copy of the rules or you can just have fun with a knockaround game.  We also now have a full sized table tennis table. Set it up to play together or solo.

Sports where you can throw things! 

For those who prefer sports where you can lob things then move the pickleball net and try your hand at boules or the Finnish game Mollky. I am sure most people will know the iconic game of boules (and we supply both adults and children's' sets) but maybe Mollky is new to you. It's a type of skittles where you use a special wooden baton to try and knock over the correct skittles which get further and further away from you as the game progresses. Both games are brilliant for people of all ages.

Fun for active children

For active kids there’s space, freedom and adventure in abundance. Safe open areas for running and games, nature to explore, and plenty of opportunities to burn off energy make this an ideal family base. No long drives, no complicated logistics — just fresh air, movement, and quality time together. 

So if during your holiday you want to relax but the children have energy they need to burn off, fear not - we've got it covered. While you relax on the sun loungers or in a hammocks the children wear themselves out in the play area - there are swings and a slide, loads of toys as well as a netted trampoline. You may well find they actually don't want to go anywhere else.

An active holiday doesn’t have to mean constant travel. Here at Eco-Gites of Lénault you can have a memorable and active holiday without getting in the car.  And if you don't mind the shortest of drives there is kayaking, horse riding, rock climbing and swimming all nearby.
