Pictures from May 22nd, 2008 - 2016

I posted this blog yesterday and then for some reaon it got eaten so here it is again - 6 photos taken at Eco-Gites of Lenault during the week beginning May 22nd.

After a cool spring our apple trees are finally in blossom - as are all the orchards locally and they look stunning. This is definitely one of my favourite times of year here in Normandy.

A few years ago Boris got a new arc - he still has it, although I have to say it is looking a bit less snazzy now!  And dear Boris is most upset he no longer shares his name with the Mayor of London ;)

4 years ago our gooseberries were already this big.  This year they have only just started to form and it will be a while before I am picking them.

In comparison it seems that the rhubarb has enjoyed the cool spring.  I think I need to add jam making onto my To Do List.  I have a very nice recipe for rhubarb and ginger jam.  Oh and rhubarb and date chutney is good too.  Do you have any favourite rhubarb recipes you'd like to share?  I am going to need some inspiration if I am to get through this lot and much as we love crumble there are only so many you can eat!

All this talk of fruit picking and cooking was too much for Foggy!

Finally this was the gite mezzanine in May 2010.  Can you believe that we opened our doors to our first guests less than 8 weeks later?  We did although it was a close thing getting everything finished.
